An eye for the overlooked
Annie Spratt — Photographer, New Forest, England

Based in England's New Forest National Park, Annie Spratt is a photographer whose work explores the atmosphere of everyday places. From quiet woodland landscapes and seasonal flowers to architectural details and unexpected moments of color, her photographs find beauty in the familiar.
Her interest in photography began while creating images for a personal blog. What started as a creative pursuit grew into an extensive photographic practice, with work shared through Unsplash for more than a decade.
Annie works with both digital and analogue photography, with a particular interest in vintage cameras, experimental film, grain, texture, and the unpredictable qualities of photographic processes. Her images often follow mood, changing light, and the atmosphere of a place rather than a predetermined composition.
Alongside her photographic practice, Annie works at Unsplash as Content Management Lead. In 2022, she was selected for Hasselblad's Heroines program, recognizing her photography and contributions to the photographic community.
The photographic approach
Annie's work is guided by observation, atmosphere, and experimentation. Nature provides much of her inspiration, particularly the changing seasons of the New Forest, while analogue photography offers another way to explore color, texture, chance, and the character of an image.
